2008-02-15

(Hong Kong – 15 February 2008) Ocean Park today welcomed, amidst great fanfare, a group of 19 Mainland guests who were among the people working in Shenzhen but were unable to return home for the Chinese New Year due to the recent cold spell. The visit was organised by China Travel Service (H.K.) Ltd.

Tom Mehrmann, Chief Executive of Ocean Park said, “We are delighted to have them at our Park today, and we hope they will have a great time here and bring home warm memories of their stay at the Park, and of Hong Kong.”

Hailing from He Lung Jiang, Mr. and Mrs. Chang said that this was the first time they visited Hong Kong and Ocean Park (Picture 5). “Although we could not return to our home town, the festive atmosphere and passionate service of Ocean Park make me feel like I’m right at home” said Mrs. Chang.

Guo Ling, hailing from Guizhou and worked in Shenzhen, said she loved visiting the Giant Panda Habitat most (Picture 6). “I have never seen giant pandas before. They are really cute and I am so happy to meet them. I would like to thank Ocean Park for giving us such a warm welcome,” she said.
