(23 July 2010, Hong Kong) Ocean Park is going to host a special Summer Splash night on 31 July for its Facebook fans to meet and get wild by enjoying close to 50 attractions and shows at the Ocean Park Summer Splash at a special price of $125 for adults and $62.5 for children between 3-11 years of age. Fans who have experienced Summer Splash are also encouraged to upload pictures to the Ocean Park Facebook Group for a chance to win Privilege tickets for a special preview night for the upcoming Ocean Park Halloween Bash, which celebrates its 10th anniversary this year.
In recent years, social media have experienced a significant boom both in Hong Kong and around the world. To provide a platform for supporters to learn about its latest activities and updates, Ocean Park has launched its own Facebook Group in May last year as well as a Sina Microblog in recent months. Apart from publishing first-hand information and pictures of the Park’s new events, promotions, advertisements and adorable animals, the Facebook Group also gives fans a handy platform to share their feelings and experiences about Ocean Park. Since its launch, the Facebook Group has seen a steady rise in its number of fans and recently surpassed the 80,000 mark, in the process becoming one of the most popular Facebook Groups among local corporations. To recognize the longstanding loyalty and support of its fans, Ocean Park will host a special Facebook Fans Night on 31 July 2010 from 5:30-10:30pm for Ocean Park’s Facebook fans. As a token of appreciation, Facebook fans who visit Ocean Park that night will be able to purchase admission tickets at a special price of $125 for adults and $62.5 for children between 3-11 years of age. To join the event, guests have to first become a fan of the Ocean Park Facebook Group by visiting www.facebook.com/hkoceanpark and clicking on “Like”. Fans would then be able to access the “Facebook Fans Night” Event and indicate their interest by pressing the “I’m Attending” button. Finally, a coupon can be downloaded. By presenting this coupon at Ocean Park’s Main Entrance or Tai Shue Wan Entrance Ticketing Office, guests can purchase up to 4 admission tickets for the night at the special price. During the night, guests will also be able to enjoy the regular attractions, rides and performances at Ocean Park.
Moreover, guests who have enjoyed Summer Splash this year are encouraged to upload photos to the Ocean Park Facebook Group for a chance to win a sneak preview of the coming Ocean Park Halloween Bash, which enters its 10th anniversary this year and promises to be a groundbreaking tale that takes the Halloween Bash experience to whole new heights. Five winners will be chosen for both the “Most Popular Award” (based on the number of “Like” given by fellow Facebook fans) and the “Coolest Award” (picked by Ocean Park). The 10 lucky winners will each receive 2 Privilege tickets to a special preview night of this year’s Halloween Bash.
Ocean Park Summer Splash 2010 is one of the wettest and wildest destinations in town this summer featuring Hong Kong’s most spectacular 80-foot high diving show, the world’s tallest and longest inflatable slide, and Hong Kong’s largest water gun battlefield spanning over 10,000 square feet in area.
