In line with the school's Life Planning Education, OPAHK provides students with the rare opportunity to visit our behind-the-scene areas and explore the diverse career opportunities in the Park. Through interacting with the professional teams to understand their daily duties and challenges they encountered, students can better equip themselves and prepare them for future career and study. The programme is only applicable to Primary 4-6 students.

Programme Format :

  • Interviews with professional teams and understand the challenges they encountered

  • Workplace visit to discover career interest

Animal Rescue #

  • Visit Hong Kong Marine Life Stranding and Education Centre to understand the roles of Ocean Park veterinarians and other professionals in animal rescuing

  • Interact with the member of Cetacean Stranding Response Team to understand the roles of Ocean Park veterinarians and other professionals in animal rescuing

Animal Husbandry

  • Visit the behind-the-scene areas of attractions to understand the working environment of and equipment used by animal caretakers

  • Experience the daily operations of animal caretakers by trying out the tools and equipment for animal care

  • Aquarist

  • Marine Mammal Training and Husbandry

  • Terrestrial Animal Training and Husbandry

Engineering Design

  • Explore the behind-the-scene areas of animal exhibits and rides to understand the design and operations of the systems and mechanics at the Park for providing an exceptional and safe guest experience

  • Interact with technicians and system operators to learn about their daily workflow and details of their work

  • Life Support System and Maintenance

  • Cable Car Design and Operation

  • Ride Operation and Maintenance

# Parts of the Animal Rescue programme may be conducted in English and supplemented with Cantonese or Putonghua.

^ Programme fee includes education programme and 1-hour self-visit at the Park.

Ocean Park issues 1 accompanying teacher ticket for every 10 student tickets purchased per group, so they can accompany students to the programme. An extra fee applies for any additional teacher to enter the Park, and the fee does not include the participation of the programme. Students cannot use the teacher admission tickets, and vice versa. All participants are expected to leave Ocean Park after the education programme. Participants who would like to remain at the Park and enjoy its facilities after the programme must apply in advance and pay a stay-behind surcharge.

Students participating in primary programmes could get a copy of the Orienteering Mission Worksheet for HK$20! Students who pay the stay-behind surcharge can get it for FREE.

The programme fees are valid until 31 August 2026.

* Animal Rescue is ONLY applicable on Wednesday and Thursday.

** One-way travelling time between the Ocean Park Main Entrance and The Summit is about 45 minutes. Please allow sufficient time to reach the programme location and return from Ocean Park.

All participants should enter Ocean Park at the same time. Teachers should approach our Ticketing Office for the admission procedure upon arrival at Ocean Park. Please then proceed to the designated gathering location as explained in the Confirmation Letter.
