Ocean Park Hong Kong Celebrates Arrival of First Group Tour on Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link

2018-09-23

As the Hong Kong section of the Guangzhou-Shenzhen-Hong Kong Express Rail Link (XRL) officially opens today, Ocean Park receives its first group tour on XRL from Guangzhou, jointly organised with China travel agency GZL. The group arrived at Hong Kong at 9:29 a.m. this morning, and was brought to the Park via an exclusive coach. The Park’s mascots Whiskers and Bao Bao warmly greeted the group, and representatives from the Park presented each guest a cute Redd plush toy and exclusive discount coupons.

Mr. Leung, one of the guests, said, “It took us less than an hour to get to Hong Kong via the XRL. This is extremely convenient as transportation time is now way shorter. I’d definitely visit Hong Kong more frequently and I have planned to visit the Park again in October.”

Mr. Lo, who came with his family, expressed that, “The XRL package offered by Ocean Park saves us a lot of money. We are coming to the Park again as my kid just loves this place! They’re very excited about the thrilling rides, while I hope they could take the chance to learn more about animal fun facts through close interaction.”

Rosalind Siu, Director of Sales, Ocean Park, said, “The sales of the XRL packages launched jointly by Ocean Park and China travel agencies is encouraging. In the coming few weeks, there will be more XRL tour groups coming to the Park from various cities like Xiamen and Fuzhou, and some groups will accommodate more than a hundred guests. With the opening of the XRL, we anticipate an approximate 10% growth of guests from Southern China.”

In view of the opening of XRL and Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge (HZMB), Ocean Park will introduce three new travel packages which combine transportation and admission tickets, as well as a special ticket for visiting Ocean Park twice in six months to make visits to Ocean Park more convenient than ever for guests from the Mainland. The Park has also set up a Shenzhen representative office and organised a series of trade briefings and road shows in various cities in Guangdong to further step up its promotion efforts in South China and the Greater Bay Area.
