In our brand new Little Seedlings Union—The Desert Tribe, which is designed for children aged 1.5–2, parents and children will get a close-up look at the meerkats, particularly at their behaviours and interactions. Besides that, children will participate in storytelling and singing sessions, learning about survival tips in the desert at the same time. Children can also engage in interactive mini-games to stimulate their five senses, spark creativity, and team up with their parents to craft their very own meerkat-themed art creation.

Programme Highlight

Children will get to know about the desert through interactive storytelling and singing session
Get a closer look on the body features of the adorable meerkat
Sensory activities with different natural materials which encourage the children to explore with their hands and improve their fine motor skills
Children can express their creativity by decorating their unique meerkat-themed art piece with their parent or guardian

Programme Content

Visiting the meerkats in Ocean Park (approximately 10-15 minutes)
Participating in an interactive storytelling session as a way to learn about desert
Exploring the mysterious desert and meerkats through sensory play
Creating a unique version of meerkat art & craft along with a parent or guardian

Date:	October to December 2025 (Selected dates only)
Programme Duration:	1.75 hours
Programme Time:	10:15 am - 12:00 noon
Gathering Time:	10:00 am
Gathering location:	Ocean Park Academy gathering location, next to Ocean Park's Waterfront Car Park (Turn left after going down the escalator outside Ocean Park MTR Station Exit B)
Dismissal location:	Waterfront Plaza (Outside Ocean Express Waterfront Station)
Capacity:	8 families (1 child aged 1.5 to 2 and an accompanying adult aged 18 or above) (The programme will be cancelled if there are less than 4 families)
Ratio of instructors to participants:	At least 2 instructors per class
Language:	Cantonese, supplemented with simple English

Enrolment deadline: 5 days before the commencement of each class.
One application is for one participant with one parent and for one programme only.
Enrolment will be postponed for 1 day if the following circumstances occur at 12:00nn:
- Tropical Cyclone Signal Number 8 or above is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory;
- Black Rainstorm Warning is issued by the Hong Kong Observatory.
The selected programme code, date, time, meal’s selection (if applicable), and participant’s information and email cannot be changed or rescheduled. All payments made are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Please make sure the programme dates fit in participant’s schedule before enrolment.
Parents will receive a confirmation letter via email once the payment has been received. Please pay attention to the spam or junk mailboxes of your email account.
